There are so many different things to do in the area that I felt that some of them should be mentioned so that you the traveler might know about them.
Alaska Riding Adventures has a year round horseback riding business with guided and unguided rides and a petting zoo and ATV rentals and is located in Hatcher Pass which is about an hour drive into the mountains from our park. While you are up there you can also go to Independence Mine, the scenery alone is worth the trip up the mountain.
Then there is Kim's Scenic Tours, LLC they have horseback riding and are located at the Reindeer Farm in Palmer which is about 15 miles away from here so while you are there you will see reindeer and possible many other animals such as moose, elk and deer.
Also in Palmer, there is the Musk Ox Farm which gives tours and has an interpretive Museum, gift shop, and picnic area.
There is also a wolf farm in Palmer (I use the term farm loosely, but don?t know what else to call it) I don?t have any brochures on the place but my mom assures me it is out there by the Reindeer Farm.
Palmer has an open air market every Friday May - Aug from 11am - 6pm located right in downtown Palmer, for more info go to the link on my page.
For the adventurer, there is Alaska Toy Rentals and Outfitting they rent all kinds of play toys for big boys and give guided tours.
For a little calmer kind of activity there is the Happy Trails Kennels of Martin Buser, 4 time Iditarod winner they give kennel tours, demonstrate the fine art of Mushing Sled Dogs, you get to meet the champs (most days include Martin Buser), and pet the puppies.
Right next door (1 mile away) we have the Transportation Museum which has 20 acres of indoor and outdoor exhibits and have a working miniature train that they give rides on during the weekends throughout the summer.
The attractions that I can find web pages for are linked in the "Around Here" section of the menu. Thank You for you interest Jan Richardson
